Dear Editor,
I express my happiness and a sigh of relief upon hearing the news of the demise of the two notorious  fugitives, Rondell Rawlins called ‘Fineman’ and Jermaine Charles called ‘Skinny.’

It is with great pleasure I write these few words to say it was a job well done by our hard-working Joint Services team. Who can ever forget the reign of terror Fineman and his notorious gang has created in our beautiful country Guyana for such a long period of time, not forgetting ‘Skinny,’ who was such a young age and knowing what he did at that age.
Once again, it was a job well done by our Joint Services team; keep up the good work.
Yours faithfully,
Davendra Gainda

Davendra Gainda….what did they REALLY DO?

It is advisable that the scant reports be reread.

They got a lead and made little useful use of it.
    Here was an opportunity for a “live capture”…but?..;
    you fill in the blanks.

Carl, I can understand the elation over the killings of Fineman and Skinny, but, like you, I can’t understand why so many believe that killing these guys was better than capturing them alive.

Don’t people realize that the fire wasn’t started by Fineman or Skinny and that it will not be extinguished by their deaths? Don’t people realize that these guys were mere fuel in a fire that has been raging for decades?

The reality is that nothing has changed except that there are two less persons to deal with. And, to paraphrase a popular song, killing them may very well be a waste as other criminals will take their place.

Perhaps, just perhaps, if they had been taken alive, the police may have learned the identities of the other criminals they worked with. For example, unless the police already know and aren’t saying, aren’t the police interested in knowing how in the world Fineman made his way back to Timehri from Christmas Falls?

For those who believe that it was necessary to kill Fineman and Skinny in order to send a message to other criminals, I ask you to consider what message was received by today’s criminals following the spectacular killing of Blackie London.

So they should have place them in jail to excape so u critics could get more things to critise about, we all know fineman and skinny did’nt start the fire and by killing them means the end of crime, but wat we do know for a fact is that we en have fineman and skinny to deal with anymore, so the rest who will take their places will suffer the same faith…..BUNG BANG!

    Excellently put John Smith

Sometimes I wonder at the postings of some of the commenters,
but I think there are just having fun by twisting people”s comments.

  4. John Smith GUYANA says:

Bung Bang, suffer the same faith at whose expense? Me and my family or yours? I am happy that they are not free to reign terror on Guyana anymore but I would have been much happier if they could have extracted information from them and find the nest. Let us get the “firestarters” and prevent the blood of innocent Guyanese flowing across the land.

Not everyone who critcize means bad and we need to understand that. We Guyanese belives that as soon as someone does not see eye to eye with us, they are the enamy.

I am happy Fineman and Skinny are no longer to drive fear in us but I have to wonder about those who supported them.
