Dear Editor,
Political interference and gross mismanagement is now reaching a critical stage in GuySuCo. This has resulted in square pegs in round holes in critical management positions in the corporation’s fields, factories and administration.
The corporation has grossly mismanaged its human and financial resources resulting in under achievement of yearly targets. Despite having an excellent apprentice and management training programme, nothing is done to retain these valuable resources and thus other businesses reap the results of Guysuco’s investments.
I hope something is urgently done to reverse this trend in the near future as I am confident that this once glorious corporation can return to its rightful place in agriculture and be a key institution for producing highly qualified people in all spheres of the sciences.
Yours faithfully,
Kumar Persaud

Guyana, is currently in a crisis, where potential citizens are migrating on a daily basis and has come short for intellectuals to fill round holes.
Square plugs, are available with no alternatives but to fix themselves in round holes.
The Guyanese government, should not be discriminating or retaliating on potential foreign-based Guyanese, as to what they have done to me personally.
….many on the side of the ppp/c return and taught they were returning to greener pastures………after a their contract was sign and started to work………they got the full weight ofthe ppp/c and pressure cause them to leave……..one recuiter said “do you know that their are people who stayed and weather the storm”………
guyanese are not dumb people but they have to get out of the mindset of keeping up with the “big house mentality” and measure a person by more humane criteria.,like performance, care, etc
how abt ” experience ” !,,,, for which there is no substitute !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m willing to go back and take up a management position in my ‘Alma Mater’, in a certain way.Guyana has to start employing its diaspora and offer them ‘real world market wages’, we are attached to Guyana in a real way and we aren’t no Mr. Jackson, who is getting the big bucks and not delivering. He’s just bidding his time, until the big boys in London or wheresoever calls him back from ‘exile’
“are”? I thought there always has been…
The government has brought back party man and head of the A.C.G in New York.Raj Singh as a member of the Guysuco board.
Just fire the square pegs and employ round ones.
Then the holes will become square!
The same argument can be made about Office of the President. The fact is the PPP was warned many years ago that they have to think beyond basic sugar. They did not. The onus was on the PPP to outline a national vision. It never had one!
Fire until you get it right them. Were you an employer, that is exactly what you would be doing.
