Dear Editor,

Political interference and gross mismanagement is now reaching a critical stage in GuySuCo. This has resulted in square pegs in round holes in critical management positions in the corporation’s fields, factories and administration.

The corporation has grossly mismanaged its human and financial resources resulting in under achievement of yearly targets. Despite having an excellent apprentice and management training programme, nothing is done to retain these valuable resources and thus other businesses reap the results of Guysuco’s investments.

I hope something is urgently done to reverse this trend in the near future as I am confident that this once glorious corporation can return to its rightful place in agriculture and be a key institution for producing highly qualified people in all spheres of the sciences.

Yours faithfully,
Kumar Persaud

He’s just bidding his time, until the big boys in London or wheresoever calls him back from ‘exile’

The same argument can be made about Office of the President. The fact is the PPP was warned many years ago that they have to think beyond basic sugar. They did not. The onus was on the PPP to outline a national vision. It never had one!
