Yet another sickening blot on Guyana’s landscape − a young woman has apparently felt it necessary to take her life, because of the savage behaviour of a man out of control.
To describe a person capable of such a heinous crime as ‘an animal’ is really to insult the species.
The mistake the young woman made was to allow the chap to enter the house when she was alone. Women, whatever their age, in such circumstances, should always make sure that someone is around, observing what is going on. Ideally, wave to the person with a loud greeting.
While there in the 1990s, I had to have some carpentry work done inside the house, and engaged a young chap recommended by someone I knew. He, in turn, handed over the job to his older assistant. We stood in the yard discussing what was involved and, while I was talking to him, he was − to put it delicately − having a love affair with himself. Shocked and offended, I looked him straight in the eye and ended the conversation very quickly. I remained outdoors until the work was completed.
At the time, I was well past retirement age and regarded his behaviour as grossly disrespectful. Anyway, it taught me the lesson that all women have to be very careful in their daily lives. What a stressful existence.

Eh eh, is after 5 pm and not a single comment from the men who love to commentate on every other issue? I bet they read it and too embarrass to comment because… aha… ahem… they know what them does do to harrass them lady like…. ahem… to put it delicately…. having a love affair with themselves …in front of the lady. I agree that in this case,this scumbag creep who did this, and caused this person to take her life, should be put away.For life on an island of snakes.Camoudis and labarias.Now I often heard women relate stories of a similar nature.An example.
A man joined a taxi and sat beside a young lady who was already in the car. They exchanged a few pleasantries about the weather,but that was all. The next day the guy was at the woman’s house,saying,”I love yu baad yu kno,” and asking her to go out to a bar.Her reply.
