Dear Editor,
As Christians are praying, the ringtones of their cell phones break their communication with God. Some answer calls as they are in the church; others go outside to do so. The word of God is more important that the words issuing from phones, thus Christians should turn off their phones during worship, which lasts for 3-4 hours. They have the entire week (168 hours) to answer calls as against 4 hours to communicate with God.

They should have utmost reverence for God and turn off their phones to have unbroken and undisturbed communication during worship periods. Turn off your phones.
Yours faithfully,
George Carrington

  1. At only Christians – all phones should be turned off at the places/any form of worship.

  2. Ginger56 UNITED STATES says:

“Because iniquity shall abound the love of many shall cold.” Because iniquity, “science” so-called shall increase, the little bit of love that man had for God shall become cold (dead). This is evident daily as people are more incline to the increase of technology that to be focus on God. The word of God cannot return to him void!

  3. M. Xiu Quan-Balgobind-Hackett UNITED KINGDOM says:

The only phone that should be on in church is The Royal Telephone. If your other phone is on, you can’t talk to the Big Guy/Gal/(?) on the other end of The Royal one.

If yuh want some money just say ” God send a raise fuh meh pardna” (how lang dat tek?) and God will send a raise fuh yuh. But if yuh have to tek 3-4 hrs for say that (plus answer yuh cellie)…then God gon drop to sleep an ain’t hear one word yuh seh.

George Carrington…good to see that you are in the Church and worshipping.

Look….would you like to miss a call from the Almighty?

    Obviously no.

Here ins Toronto we have a bill-board which says:
    PREPARE TO MEET THY GOD
    CALL 416-XXX-XXX

Everytime my visitors pass that sign, they comment:
” Suppose the line is busy and God does not answer?”

The priest or church leader should make it a necessary request
of the audience to have their phones off or on no-ring status.

Most will comply except for the odd rude one.

Ever notice that everyone has a cell phone….woman, child and man?

  6. Caesar Agustus UNITED STATES says:

I agree. I am a Catholic. I turn my cell phone off when I go to mass. Time for God should never be interrupted by man.It shows immaturism and incincerity in worship if this is norm.

  7. Sanderson Rowe BARBADOS says:

A cell phone rang while the priest was giving his sermon. The priest paused and said, “If that call is not from God, turn that phone off.” But how can we profess to serve God , on those days we attend church, but still wants to be connected to the outside world. I do not even wear a watch to church. The church whereI was Christened,Confirmed and hope to be interred, has the following verse of scripture spread across the front of the altar. “God is a spirit, and they that worship him ,must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
The sanctity of the church is being compromised everday, and especially so at funeral services.

  8. Ulric UNITED STATES says:

I am not a christian. What should I do about my phone when in church?

    • decanadianCarlVeecock CANADA says:

Do not take it with you !

Leff it in de car, but then, why would you go to church?

      Man yuh too wicked.

  9. Ulric UNITED STATES says:

LOL. Can’t lef it in de car. Gah foh check up on u.
