Dear Editor,
Just a few days ago I was walking around my community where I came into contact with some young people who expressed concerns for their future in Guyana. Many felt marginalized, discriminated against and sometimes left out because of their ethnicity. This is evidence that our country is in trouble and is in need of leadership, vision and youth inclusiveness. A change of administration is the only option that comes to mind.
I then expressed to them that all hope is not lost. Betterment may seem a formidable task because of the mismanagement and incompetence of the PPP/C administration, but surely it is surmountable if we as Guyanese put an end to racial voting and confront issues of major concern vociferously. The youths have lost all hope and confidence in the PPP/C administration. The question is, who is able and capable of restoring the hope of young people and relieving them of the epidemics of unemployment, marginalization and discrimination? My answer is simple: Mr Robert HO Corbin. With his experience, knowledge and vision, he is the only viable leader.
His vision is consistent with needs of young people across the country; the vision of a better tomorrow. Rest assured that he has the tenacity and the determination to restore the happiness Guyanese once enjoyed.
Evidence of his determination, commitment and passion for the development of youths is in the implementation of some aspects of the Youth Empowerment Scheme (YES), which has already benefited quite a number of youths and parents in many of our communities.
His vision is second to none, and includes all Guyanese, regardless of race, creed or political affiliation, to quench their thirst for a brighter future. His vision also speaks of a transformed Guyana, recognizing that the onerous demands of managing this country require the collective effort of all: building strong families with healthy values, strengthening communities, enhancing our educational system, and reducing unemployment.
It offers hope through opportunities for persons to develop themselves intellectually, socially, culturally and economically. I am encouraging everyone to read his 2004 and 2006 congress speeches. This is the real vision of a true visionary.
Yours faithfully,

Leader of what? Since when?By whom? For whom?
LOL………………….guys I think our good intentioned fren tani gets it ,shall we move on, now but,we must keep her and others like her in our prayers. What a brave woman.
LOL!
What a joke! Is this the same Tandika Todd, that takes every opportunity she gets to express her dissatisfaction to friends about Corbin’s leadership?
She is allowing herself to be manipulated by Robert Corbin and that is a great shame.
I wonder what he promised her for putting her signature to this letter to launch his 2009 bid for re-election to the leadership of the PNCR.
Probably a seat in Parliament. And should that come to fruition, it would be a slap in the face of all intellectuals – both in and out of the party.
Comrade Corbin no longer fit the bill for being the next leader of Guyana….
The profile of the next leader of Guyana is as follows:-
-must be in mid forties
-have at least a first degree, second better
-could be from either party but must be of MIXED race (take the race card out of the playing field-dougla seems to fit the bill)
-must be from the working class and brought up by his/her Grandparents( to instill the best values of life)
-NOT a sweetman/sweetwoman
-have only one house or even renting
-can arouse a crowd
unemployment, marginalization and discrimination?
all against one set of ppl……
like yall dont understand dis ent stickin anymo…..
find something else to cry about…..
Visionary? Lets examine the word “visionless” instead. Young men and women are unemployed and hopeless. Corbin’s response…march; tax increase..march; discrimination in the worlplace….march; residents of poor villages complain of poor or none existent infracture…march; violence against citizens…march; blockade by the police of villages…march. Thats a visionless leader. My question is: Why does he not MARCH himself out of office? His brand of leadership depends on taking a basket to the well to fetch water. We (citixens of Guyana) need someone to lead us who has a bucket from which to fetch water from the well. We need someone who brings back from the well :hope, inspiration, tollerance, racial harmony, foresight, nation building, pride in being Guyanese. So, Tandica, ask yourself if Mr. Corbin has a basket or a bucket when he makes his trip to the well. ISNM
I dont see a profile for the next leader that in anyway compares to the one my friend blk outlined however, what i see however is that the person has to be willing to fight for our country, nothing kind, free or fair will work, only a vicious revoulition holds the answer.Am I ready?you bet.
I am still trying to find out what did this man lead. And where he led those he was leading. There is no answer, so the assumption is that he led in a matter of sorts. To nowhere
Corbin needs to go or shape up his act. He is a disgree to Burnham and Hoyte
Several words crossed my mind relative to the thoughts expressed by Tandika Todd. They are the following; absurd, abomination, hallucination, delusion, illusion, fantasy and nightmare. I am sure one of them is an apt description. Let me be kind for I am after all a woman’s son. Her argument is porous, at best. It is certainly ludicrous and/or preposterous or both.
