Start you own party then. An easy way to begin is to openly denounce both of the existing parties. Now go for it.

Nice idea. But is the tourism industry in Guyana capable of sustaining that kind of high standard set in these countries. The political, criminal free for all, and socio economic climate in Guyana will have to undergo a radical change.

Guyan lacks leaders of vision and leadership for Guyana. We have leaders who are selfish and clanish. Their vision is about themselves.

We will continue to lament the fact that Guyana lacks this and that but we still continue to close our minds to our minds to a future for our children. Until we, the people, can come up with our realistic visiuon about our future, the future of our children and where we want to see our country go, we will continue to lament about what obtains in other countries far less well endowed than ours. I think the problem with guyanese is not racism which is in the DNA, it the attitude that I don't have to be in this for too lonmger because my visa is being processed, legally and or illegally.

Racist feelings are a fact, where we find common grounds has to be about our future. East Indians cannot thrive in Guyana unless other races thrive too. Which is the reason for all the robberies...look at the perpetuators and look at the victims in the majorty of cases.

Accountability of the people we put there and the governance they practice is what is paramount. Any party or group can run Guyana as long as they win a free and fair election but that is just the beinning. The real effort comes with governance for a better future. Again I ask the Guyanese people to demand that the government articulate a coherent policy for developing Guyana. President jagdeo must stop running around and settle on governing this country which is sinking deeper in the hole every day he is in office presiding over petty and pie in the sky matters. Lets have a planned development thrust with all Guyanese to the wheel. Provide leadership and the people will do the work and people like my friend who wrote this letter will stop talking about what is happening in other countries and doing more rather than wanting the government to do things.

We need to break the cycle that government has to do everything. That was the way Jagan (and his PPP has continued) and then Burnham conditioned the people. We must start to demand leadership so we can do the work we need to get on with. Start with a plan for development which will include constitutional changes for accountability and firm sanctions.
