Dear Editor,
I try to read ‘Peeping Tom’ daily for I get a wealth of information and he does not hold back punches when he sees that it’s necessary. I refer to his recent article about the Carifesta monies. Like the President, I do not think it is the President’s job to check accounts. Why is it that up to this time the accounts cannot be audited? I see possible fraud coming up and I call for a forensic investigation by an outside audit company. All persons found to be involved in any fraud should be placed before the courts. The country is undergoing a rash of larcenies and fraud by all and sundry, not to mention big businessmen.

I hate to hear big men bleating like sheep. Take the Demerara Harbour Bridge. Everyone using this bridge has to pass security guards, etc. The drivers are seen committing offences while crossing the bridge, The bridge is over a mile long, so why don’t the guards on the bridge alert their opposite number at the end of the bridge to arrest the driver and vehicle for breaching the regulations? Alert the personnel at the bridge end and arrest the driver and vehicle. We must be firm if we are to bring some sort of discipline back to the country.
Yours faithfully,
(Name and address provided)

An external audit firm will not help to alleviate irregularities. Besides all its findings would be swept under a carpet. The words Forensic and Audit should not be used when talking about the current administration. Need I remind you about Lindo Creek?
