Not for use at night: Only two planks remain on this bridge linking Lamaha Park to ‘B’ Field, Sophia, which is crying out for repairs. At one time, motor vehicles used this bridge to cross between the two communities. Today it is used only by the sure-footed and quite likely not when it’s dark. (Photo by Jules Gibson)

what a shame
It is a shame. These planks don’t grow feet and walk.
It is a fact that the country cannot afford to maintain all of it’s infrastructures.
It is also the responsibility for the general public. Wiston, do you know of the situation in Sophia? It was a squatting area now being regularised by the government. Do you know where alot of the building materials come from. Think about it.
If these planks have been stolen, then, it is obvious these lawless acts are done at the immediate inconvenience, hardships and and expense of the people living in this area.
It is a shame that theft, vandalism, damage to public property and other illegal acts, are carried out and condoned, very likely, by members of the community who use this facility.
Responsibility and charity begins at home, it is a daunting future for our children, when we turn a blind eye to crimes, in the places where we live and work.
