Fire of unknown origin yesterday afternoon destroyed a two-storey house located at 192 Second Street, Beezie, Enmore, East Coast Demerara. Reports are that none of the ten occupants of the house were at home at the time of the fire and neighbours reported that they heard a loud popping sound before they noticed flames emanating from the building. The valiant efforts of neighbours who were later joined by Guysuco fire tenders and a tender from the Campbellville Fire Station failed to save the house, but they were successful in saving neighbouring homes.
