If the drainage systems are being managed properly instead of distributing flood relief monies, those same funds can be for maintenance of the D&I systems hence preventing such huge floods. Also we all know our major natural disasters are floding and drought, therefore we must be prepared in the dry season to deal with the rains and knowing the unpredictable pattern of climate we should be more industrious during the dry for the rains. Same as the ants do, figure some way of how to stay on high grounds, reasonable common sense can solve all our problems. I sympthise with these affected farmers, how much can they do when others do not do thier jobs properly. My prayers are with you Guyanese who are really affected by flood waters.
