Other members of the diaspora, religious groups and non – governmental organisations should emulate the above.
By forming themselves into groups , members of the diaspora can help the poor and less furtunate in Guyana, by financial and material support, in helping them to establish micro and medium businesses, particularly agro business; rearing goats, sheep, pigs, cows, ducks, chickens etc; to lift the poor out of their desperate situations.
Supplying the poor with a piece of equipment, tool or machinery, can open up unexpected opportunities for many economically desperate and in need.
Members of the diaspora, can even support and adopt one or some of their less fortunate relatives, in realising this worthy and noble cause.
The money, some of us in the diaspora spend on junk food, uneccessary clothing, gagdets etc; can make a huge difference in raising the quality of life of those ‘ left behind’.
So let us do it !
