A field of marijuana was found in the Eccles Backdam, East Bank Demerara during a Joint Services Operation conducted in the area on Sunday afternoon.
According to a police press release the field is approximately ¼ of an acre and contained 120 marijuana plants which were between one and five feet in height. The ranks also discovered a quantity of dried marijuana in a camp.
Both the camp and the plants were destroyed, the release said. A man has since been taken into custody and charges are to be laid shortly.

They Can’t Catch A Thief Redhanded Much Less Heavily Armed Fugitives, For The Last Two Months There Were Quite A Few Headlines About Murders During Or After Indulging In Alcohol, One Headline Read :- “Man Killed By Brother After Drinking Alcohol”, Another One Read:- “Man Rapes 9yr Old Girl After Drinking Alcohol With His Neighbours”, Not One Of These Crimes Were Linked To GANJA Yet The Police Are Treating Ganja/Marijuana Like The Biggest Demon In Guyana, I Know From Experience That You Are More Humble Under The Influence Of Marijuana Compared To Alcohol But One Must Still know Their Limits And Don’t Over Indulge !!!
