As per usual, we have not prepared ourselves properly for such a serious paradigm shift in our trade relationship with Europe. Our leaders must learn that preparation matters and that they are not the ultimate authority; the people they should be representing are.

Now that "the boat has gone ah falls" everyone is now 'crying wolf' to the EPA which incidentally, happens to be the best deal we could have managed to negotiate in the circumstance.

We in the Caribbean have this abiding notion that Europe owes us, for what and for how long seems not to matter. That the Europeans must 'piggy back' us for as long as we can drink rum and soca on the beaches with bikini clad women.

Come on guys, get with it, ours leaders have put us in this mess and now atleast one, is pointing the blame elsewhere. Europe ows us nothing, we owe ourselves to have leaders of vision and who can promote real democracy and engagement with people.

It seems as if everytime the environment presents us with some challenges, we would want to change agreements.

There are many lessons to be learnt here. And I think we are taking advice from me who have helped to create the mess we are currently faced with. mega blocks will surely bring a stronger and feircer notion of competition and solidarity. This is the power play of large blocks; herein lies the advantage to seek out your interest. Caricom/Cariforum, take note of the value of integration and the power that resides with the collective one voice.
