A 28-year-old actress who allegedly presented a forged CSEC certificate to the Ministry of Health was placed on $200,000 bail when she appear-ed before the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Sonia Yarde of Lot 4 Norton Street, Georgetown was before Magistrate Priya Beharry facing charges of uttering a forged document and conspiracy to commit a felony.
It is alleged that on July 23 with intent to defraud, Yarde uttered a forged Caribbean Secondary Examination Certificate (CSEC) to the Ministry of Health, purporting to show that she had obtained grade twos in Biology and Caribbean History and grade ones in English Language, Principles of Business and Social Studies.
Further, it is alleged that between January 1, 1996 and July 31 last year she conspired to forge the said CSEC certificate.
Magistrate Beharry granted Yarde bail in the sum of $100,000 on each charge. The matter is to continue on September 24.





Most people seem to forget that you’re innocent until proven guilty. Give the courts the chance to do their constitutional duty. Remember that the same governmental system of which we complain so much about often works against us sometimes unfairly. So let the law lords of Guyana determine her guilt or innocence and then we make conclusive comments.
It’s a shame! She should have known better! It is not a crime if you do not possess certain grades in some subjects. Oh come on man, you could have rewritten those subjects and save yourself this embarrassment. If at last you don’t succeed, try try try again, patience is the best reward.

IF SHE WAS A VERY GOOD ACTRESS CERTAINLY SHE WOULD AHVE GOTEN AWAY WITH IT BUT THE PART THAT SHE PLAY AS AN ACTRESS YOU CAN SEE PLAINLY THAT THOSE PART DO NOT FIT HER CHARECTOR THAT BRINGS TO MY ATTENSION THAT SHE MAY BE AN EXTRA
