i think that your comments are rather foolish and senseless
this is not a time to critique but a time for praise.
give respect where respect is due.
for all that is happening in GT right now it is quite pleasing to see that we have a bunch of young people keeping focus and doing the task appointed to them by their teachers and parents.
i guess if they were doing something negative then a silly comment would have followed by yourself( i wonder)
for all the castigation that persons of guyanese citizenship go through in the region and further afield i salute the for a job well done

CAPE -The advanced level offered by the CXC is suppose to replace the London GCE. This can probably explained the significant drop in the GCE.

Actually, CAPE numbers has reduced too, so I guess my reasoning is flawed.

I am not trying to rain on anyone’s parade, some of these guys are naturally smart as I remembered.

Well done to all you students, all your hard work has paid off with some fine results. The stark reality now though is most of you will now leave guyana to persue studies overseas and after which , to provide your services to the developed world. Its a shame guyana needs you, but I don’t blame you, I blame our politicians…..I was a scholar myself, and no one of my year returned.

Advanced Level which is the best guide went from 108 to 62 students

An in-depth analysis is needed. It begs a whole pile of questions from cost to educational standards?

Region 10 1– MHS(1)

Region 4 (Georgetown) 61 QC(33),BHS(17),SSC(5),
NGS(1)MA(1)RH(1)PC(1)

Region 10 6 ARM( 3), AZS(3)

Region 3 10 WDS(2), ZS(1) SVN(7)

Region 6 2 NAMS(1), SLP (1)

Apparently Education Minister finds this pleasing that outside of Georgetown eduction standards has drop to an all time low.

Region 6 which used to be very strong can only produce 2 students of top quality.

It is this the case of education outside Georgetown at an all time low ?

Why is is the Candidate for A-levels drop by nearly 50 %

Is this the dumbing of the students in the country side —where apparently more PPP supporters are?

Will all them PPP supporters nor see what this government is doing to the eduction of their children?

Like one blogger noted education for some, seems to be the only constant in Guyana.

Congratulations to all the students who were successful at their exams.
But, please, stop this publicity in the local newspapers. There are students who have achieved much more in terms of what they had to work with and they are not given the acclaim. Also, I think that while it might be necessary for the students to study all those 16 subjects for a rounded formal education, I think they should concentrate on the foundational core courses for their exams.

Although I’m a bit confused with this new alphabet soup of Caribbean exams, during my stint as a student we had nothing like this, nevertheless, Big Up and CONGRATS to all students and teachers involved along with their families.

Way to go in keeping the tradition of academic excellence alive and well in Guyana. At the moment, it appears that education is the only constant that makes sense in Guyana.
