y do ppp supporters always make excuses when things do not go right, take it like a man or r u guys not man enough, i was a cop back in the 80s & 90s n can tell u about sabotage so do not go there,running a country is not like running a cake shop so plz spare us even you get to short change the ppl in a bigger way,what the ppp should have done is get the P.N.C to show them how to organize the events as the have the know how even diwali and pagwah celebrations were better organized by the P.N.C as for Fineman how many places can he be or is the security forces moving him around in their new helicopter.

Organising Carifesta in Guyana is complex and the country cannot throw money at it like China has done in Beijing. China, for example, launched over 100 cloud seeking iodine missiles just to keep rain away from the Birdcage Stadium, Guyana sadly had to contend WITH the rain!

Clearly, the other WI countries are more used to these shows and have more slick presentations, however we have all got to start somewhere and Guyana’s place is currently as the poor-man of the WI. The Carifesta Secretariat organising of tickets to the grand market for example was complicated in the first place but it is good to see the organisers changing tactics as events unfold on the ground.

At the moment, we have some very unpatriotic people with ‘sour-grapes mentality’ going around Georgetown vandalising telecoms equipment to disrupt voice and internet communications. At the moment the sabotage seems to have failed and we shall be lucky if Fineman and his people do not pull of one of their terrorist specialities during this time.
So, let us put a brave face on this and know that next time we will get better and better.

I was most impressed with Suriname’s Georgine Breeveld’s information on head wraps and I shall now always be on look-out for good looking women who saunter past me wearing the ‘Meet me at the corner’ type.
