AK-47, pistol with silencer, ammo found -Three women held
Three women have been arrested after three high-powered weapons and seven hundred and thirteen rounds of ammunition among other items were discovered by Joint Services ranks in a barrel on Wednesday evening at a Regent Street house.
According to a police press release sent last evening, the ranks conducted a search at Lot 120 Regent Street, Bourda at about 6.30 pm where they discovered an AK-47 rifle with the number filed off, a pistol with a silencer, a Mosberg shotgun, 713 rounds of ammunition of various calibre, 7 magazines for different firearms, a green camouflage water bottle and a green canvas pouch in a barrel.
It is expected that ballistics tests would be done on the firearms to determine if they were used in any crimes. The army is still missing several AK-47s from the 30 that were stolen from Camp Ayanganna in 2006. Sources say the pistol with the silencer is particularly disturbing and may point to the execution-style killings that have occurred routinely. Observers have said that with the killing by the police of Rondell `Fineman’ Rawlins and Jermaine `Skinny’ Charles there would be stepped up pressure for the police to crack down on other armed gangs engaged in extra-judicial acts.
There have been several cases of large amounts of arms and ammunition being found and questions have been raised about how they have flowed into the country. Porous borders are believed to be the key entry point but there are also questions about the level of security at ports.
The following is a list of the arms and ammunition that were discovered: one AK 47 rifle with the number filed out, one Mosberg 12 gauge shotgun, one Intratec 9mm. pistol with silencer, one AK 47 magazine, one Glock pistol magazine, two .380 magazines, two 9mm. magazines, one .40 magazine, 240 rounds .45 ammo, 146 rounds 9mm. ammo,114 rounds .40 ammo,107 rounds .32 ammo, 43 rounds 10mm. ammo, 11 shotgun cartridges (12 gauge), 24 rounds 7.62 x 39 ammo, one round 7.62 x 51 ammo, 3 rounds .380 ammo,19 rounds .22 ammo, 2 rounds .357 ammo, one round .38 special ammo and two rounds .38 ordinary ammo.
The police in their terse statement said that three women have since been arrested and are in their custody assisting with investigations.

WHERE ARE THE OWNERS OF THIS ARSENAL?
I had feared that with the demise of Charles and Rawlins, JS would relax and bask on their fantastic successes and stop hunting the rest of the Rawlins gang. It is most pleasing to see JS are undimmed in their enthusiasm to hunt down these people who would bring fear and instability in beautiful Guyana.
If only the legal and penal system in Guyana was not so rusty in backing up the very real and present dangers faced by the Joint Services.
I note one Glock pistol magazine was also found, so that means the Glock pistol is still out there posing a threat to the public.
If these three criminals (yes people, even though they are women; THEY ARE STILL CRIMINALS) cannot give an honest account of themselves, then jail . . . and throw away the keys if need be.
At the very least it is plain they are guilty of harbouring murderers. Shame on them.

You guys would gail any simple english reading test. It is no wonder that Guyana is in such deep dodoo, since the people you support politically are just as challenged as you are. The article clearly included this piece as a clue to where this gang might be politically situated. Typical of the backwardness that living in the US cannot eradicate, the automatic response is “dat ah fineman”. It is a pity that ignorance is not terminal.
really taught these occurences woulda ease with the dismantling of the buxton gang. like is true what the people say that there were other gangs & not fine man alone
good work , get them one by one .
Glad to see the police are continuing their quest of illegal weapons. Not like they did after the killing of the last gang.

Good catch Js, now we need to know who are the links to these weopons.
Joint Forces job well done. Good intellegence however, I hope that the evidence are good enough to stand in a court of law. Furthermore i will like to see thelaw pass that no one should be wearing army type uniforms
Good find guys…let go get more.
the share of the ransom is encouraging this special squad to continue there work,
info gather has led them to this location, as such more arrest will be coming.
all are involved with the “fineman gang’
harsh punishment for these co-conspirators.
Why is there a link to the “fineman gang”? What about the Phantoms? I think this is pointing to the Phantoms, they need to hunt down the known Lieutenants of Roger Khan and questions them.
keep going jsv despite the negative ones, don’t let them slow you in your tracks.
