The body of an unidentified man was discovered on the main road at Garden of Eden, East Bank Demerara late Wednesday night with massive injuries to the head.

Reports reaching this newspaper are that the man was the victim of a hit and run accident. This newspaper was told that most of the man’s scalp was torn off.

Police said in a release last night that they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an unidentified man of African descent whose body was found about 11:15 pm with injuries to his head.
The body is at the Lyken’s Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination.
