My heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families and to leslie i say, stop berating yourself you did what you had to do. shame on the B.A.S.S operatives, if it was a smuggling tip-off, they surely would have found a seaworthy vessel to go and do they runnings.

Hi Leslie you did your best .but i think that the captin must ensure that the pessanger has on life jacket and the govt must let these boat owners comply with the laws if thair is any i work on a tour boat and iknow this for sure that all boat have to be inspected by the govt .And it have to have lifejacket oxygen bottle flair marrir first aid kit and make sure that the deck hand and captin is CPRcertified .it is sad to here all thoese people lose thair life if thair had a flair or a blower may life would save that is all .i sent my sympty to all the ralitaves .good job Leslie bye.

is because he hold on pun the 5-gallon container although the life jacket was a poor quality one not fit to be on a vessel that he survive, the others weren’t so lucky.

Fulano… I thoroughly agree with you. God still has work for Leslie to do. He’ll soon find it once he avails himself. It’s hard not to beat-up on oneself in the face of such tragedy, knowing that if you could, you would have tried to do better

All my sentiments on this tragedy have already been expressed. I just hope that the bereaved family family members can find some solace.

Does anything ever work in Guyana? It does not matter how expensive the donation was. In the seventies i was working on the glass factory at timehri and was on my way to work by bus [Tata] which was donated by the Indian Govt. where the enjine just seized, because it was not properly maintained. Prior to becoming a bus driver afterwards, we had two weeks of training in maintaining these busses but it all went down the gutter. No one cares. Hats off to you Leslie, Good job. You have done all you could. Thank you.

I must congratulate the survivor and encourage him to give his life to God if u have not and use this as a testamony 3 win souls for Christ.

I disagree with you on this one. Unless WE can SINCERELY communicate with the Most High we cannot know our purpose in this life. WE ALL HAVE A PURPOSE, that sense of purpose is given when we are conscious of the fact that someone greater than we are is responsible for our very existence. WE CAN commune with HIM to receive the guidance we need WE MUST COMMUNE WITH HIM TO FIND OUR SENSE OF PURPOSE. Leslie’s survival shows that JAH still has a mission for him to fulfill & he needs to find it.

He cannot find out WHY the ALMIGHTY let him survive because no one can escape their destiny and we must not fly in the face of the LORD because HE knows BEST! Leslie’s escape from that TRAGIDY has a reason. The Lord gives and he takes. HE was most certainly not ready for LESLIE. the time had come for the others. It is always very sad when we loose a loved one, but we have to go on with the knowledge that “LIVE WE MAY, DIE WE MUST” we all have to depart one day and leave all the MATERIAL THINGS and POWER that we fight for in this life.Leslie has an experience that no one can doubt or take away from him and that is unique. He could not save the rest because he is not the CREATER. and maybe its a lesson for us to love and respect each other regardless of colour or creed.

What really is it that we are here to do? these same people who seemingly escapes death at one time in their lives still had to or have to die at some point in time, it is plain to me that they have not escaped death at all, they were only allowed to live a little bit more like Mr. Austin.
