I wonder why she did it, was she having problem at home or school, i guess we will never know. Something serious is happening in guyana when teens are taking their own lives.

  2. guy123 UNITED KINGDOM says:

Has she got other relatives? hmmm!

  3. This is so sad she did not live to tell the tale. These children are not crazy to take their lives like that, things are happening to them beyond their control.

    • Michelle 30 UNITED STATES says:

    • Cheryl (Vote Obama) UNITED STATES says:

Agree with u Eastbankgirl, many parents, brothers/sisters and other relatives are not concerned with their attitudes towards kids, some of them treat kids like crap, some never enquire if there are problems at school with other kids etc:.

Some kids have no one they can trust, to speak with, concerning what is happening in their lives, thus, they turns to taking their lives, which is not the only way out.

Some kids are more strong, have friends who would listen and comfort them, which helps.

Kids are kids, if the school’s system starts developing a watchful eye on kids in schools, warning signals would be noticed.

I personally had family members, who never really cared about me when I was a kid, the amount of lies and blows that was given to me, would have made some kids hateful in their adult lives.

I went through it all and have grown to adapt, have 4given, but still cannot 4get.

I have grown adult children now, and have tried my utmost best as a mother to always be there for them, and still retains that motherly attitude.

Parents, sisters, brothers and families, please do show love to kids, they r the future generations, understand that your attitudes towards them as kids, would reflect on the relationship they would have with you, when they becomes adults.

This is very sorrowful, rest in peace little angel.

A lot of children are being abused and have no one to talk to about what they are going through, people make fun of them and make them feel as if they were the ones that did someting wrong. Someone should do some serious investigating into why so many teenagers are commiting suicide. They should question the people around her and try to find out if she was being molested.

  5. Melainie UNITED STATES says:

I didnt hear anything about her parents ,why is the uncle getting her up ,something is fishy about this one ,it is so sad that these kids thin that there is no other way out of what they are going through ,something should be set up so these kids have somewhere to go and someone to talk too.

    • Islander NETHERLANDS ANTILLES says:

I totally agree with you Melainie…what is the story behind this young girl’s life, what about the parents…?…other family members…?….this case needs to be investigated, It is sad to see Guyana youths are taking their own life so frequently…those children are troubled in some way or the other…what also have to be looked into is if this girl had a mate…

  6. ANN CANADA says:

This is ver sad….may her spirit rest in peace.

    • Tbh UNITED KINGDOM says:

this is sad, and me as a teen sumtimes I wanna take my own life teens do it cuz their stressed with things going on at school, family, friends, mostly family cuz they don’t be fare I think about it everyday I feel as if I kill myself I won’t be missed that’s how bad it is I could now see why she did some thing like that.

  7. Fulano de Tal UNITED STATES says:

So as we continue to pour our sympathy out on families in Guyana I would like to charge those in authority to do a thorough investigation. Check thie young lady, see if she was abused, check with schoolmates, see if there were issues at school or at home. It is amazing the amount of our YOUTH wo ho have recently dies for one reason or the other. Something’s got to be wrong.
Is it general frustration & hopelessness? I think not, so much has been ‘achieved’ with by our ‘democratically’ (s)elected govt.

    • evileyes CANADA says:

check the suicide rate in the US army and see what your suicide
democratically govt is doing….oh !!!! im not asking you to check the entire US suicide rate….just the army stationed in Iraq…….and dont be shocked and surprised……

  8. John Smith GUYANA says:

I am wondering if she lived alone? From the article I get that impression and I am curious why is this so. A sixteen year old living alone is easy prey from some unsavory creatures. She obviously thought that life was not worth living because of what was happeing in to her. Maybe the uncle might know of something or lots of things. Just sad that such a young life goes to waste.

    • DMACK UNITED KINGDOM says:

I truly think the uncle should be asked about what ever information he has, somebody in the village know the story behind this girl death.

  9. DAVSING UNITED STATES says:

    whats wrong with these kids??

    • M. Xiu Quan-Balgobind-Hackett UNITED KINGDOM says:

More like what adults with power over them are doing to them.

    • michael drepaul UNITED STATES says:

What is ‘wrong’ with these kids is that there are no educational programs to help them deal with certain events in their lives. Maybe they are not making use of the programs if they do exist in Guyana. This seems to be a plague now. Young people see no other way out… but they must be educated about how to deal with peer pressure, abuse or other traumatic events which lead them to take their own lives. As Amen-ra said ’something serious is happening in Guyana’ but it is not only serious, it is very disturbing and happening too frequently.

  10. GTRL CANADA says:

Do you have a picture of this individual? I am trying to maintain a web page with just this kind of crime in Guyana – raping, killing and other abuse of women. I initially dedicated just a corner of a page on http://www.guyanatabloid.com for this kind of stories. However, I have now realized that instead of corruption and robbery, the killing and abuse of woman seems to be the fastest growing kind of crime in Guyana. The police must again try to figure out this one. PROBABLY the girl was beaten by her parents or brother for having a relationship with a boy, or maybe she has a secret that she would rather die than to tell. Girls in Guyana are forced by their brothers and parents to marry old, ugly overseas-based men. A lot of these fathers back home do not know that sometimes their daughters end up suffering at the hands of husbands and in-laws when the migrate overseas. After all there are thousands of pretty women in the US and Canada : girls from Trinidad, Guyanese, India and so on, so a man returning to Guyana for a wife can tell us something about him in a world that is full of competition. Maybe he is looking for a maid?
What level is the Guyanese society descending into? Like, I said in my other post, women are the most marvelous creation of God. It is the true source of love and affection in the life of man and family.
