The body of a 16-year-old Corentyne girl was yesterday discovered hanging in her bedroom by an uncle who had gone to wake her.
Dead is Dhampatt Rampersaud of Number 62 Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
According to reports the teen lived in the bottom flat of her uncle’s home. Around 6 yesterday morning the uncle went to wake her as he usually did when he was leaving for work. His knocks on the bedroom went unanswered and he subsequently broke down the door. He discovered the teen hanging close to the doorway.
The police were informed. The body was subsequently removed by undertakers attached to the Persaud’s Funeral home and taken to the Skeldon Hospital mortuary.

So sad, a very young age, probably had problems or was sick, suicide is always premeditated, friends/family must know something.

mmmmmm, this sounds a bit strange to me, but the uncle should be question very carefully and an athopsy done to determined if this young woman was sexually molested.

ok, what’s going on here? Where is this girl’s mom and dad? Cmon police do your work, she is dead some one has to know something, she must have told a friend something. Dont just let this go, this is a human life we are talking about here, So sad, show some compassion law enforcement , solve this one , check if she was abused and could not take it anymore,

Something is fishy here…needs to be a post mortem to find out if she was abused and even pregnant…if pregnant DNA testing will determine who is the culprit, boyfriend, neighbour or relative…does the GPF have the ability to do a thorough investigation?????
this is serious. what is going on with our children of tomorrow what could have cause that poor girl to kill herself there is more to this i dont think she was sick ,and yes suicide is always premeditated because of the problems they are having in the home… we might never know so sad i hope she find peace may her soul RIP .GOD SEE AND KNOWS IT ALL
I keep repeating that as long as there is life there is hopes..these people need to get out of bondage speak with people share problems, problems are temporary ( suicide is a permanent solution for that)this must never be contemplated. They must get out of this old fashion life style that ties them to certain practice in life.. I am sure if there was any problem that cause this and she had shared it with someone she would have been better off..

More needs to be done to combat this scourge of suicide…Iam sure that it is one of the leading cause of death in Guyana…The Govt needs to financially treat this as it would any other disease,such as aids etc..social workers should be deployed to educate and council people who suffer from things that could predispose them to suicidal tendencies…Most importantly shelters need to be provided for the homeless,abused , and destitute people.
I also call on all religious leaders ,especially those of the hindu community ,to seriously address this issue,since the majority of the victims are from this religion.Hinduism is firm in its belief that the soul ,or rather the sukhsham sharir of a person who commits suicide will not find a resting place but would be tormented by the demons of the hereafer..it is an unpardonable sin to commit suicide…to destroy this human form which is desired even by the devtas….So teach this to the people and let them understand that death does not bring an end to their problems…It could be the begining of a lot more…Only mukti or self-realisation can make us completely free of all problems.

there should be a better and pragmatic solution to suicide than just trying to scare people about some unproven ‘after-life’.
these news reporters are reporting part of the story. Y dont they get as much info as possible to publish? When they make their stories too BRIEF it leaves the readers nothing but questions upon questions & many times ppl [readers] get the WRONG IMPRESSIONS.
Report what u know report the facts and get as much info as possible for your stories. ARE THE EDITORS CONSERVING ON SPACES IN THEIR NEWSPAPERS???
