i do not understand why the police force is so lazy, but the work should also be done by the citizens. I remember growing up in wismar and they people decided to do vigilante and help prevent criminals for molesting innocent people. i understand that now they have guns, they shold make it legal for resident to carry firearms. The death penality should slo be brought back. If you kill someone you will face the same penality. ICrime is becoming a lifestyle and it is bad for the country, and it tourism industry. Nobody will want to come there.

Why could it not be a stranger coincidence that the bandits were are the area the car happened to broke down. Must people be victimized over and over again when they become the victim and lose their families. Regardless, now a husband lost is wife, a mother lost her daughter, a sister or brother lost their sister, a father lost his daughter and countless folks whose lives were entangled with Melissa lost a friend or a cousin, Guyana lost another innocent life, and the government stands by doing nothing.

Criminals are criminals and it does not matter what Melissa should or should not have done. Those thugs senselessly took her life. Why should it be about whether she hid the money or not, or whether her husband ran or not The intent of those individuals was to rob, maimed or/and kill. The deceass and her husband are victims and should be view as such. Their actions or lack of should not be put on a defense. Please let’s support the family as they are in mourning for their loved ones.

It is not just the police who need to be doing their job, it is a lot bigger than the police. It is the entire system which need to change which is riddled with corruption. Everything and everyone has to be working on the same level to bring about a change. As long as there are an unbalance of power, goverment and city official who are not aggressive in doing their jobs it will lead to the same result every time. Something bad happen and it makes news and then something new happens again and we forget the previous news and on and on. There is nothing getting done and no-one willing to change things. It all has to start at the top, beginning with the government. I often wonder if we as simple folks can see the existing problems how it is these folks in the position to bring about a change cannot. We have to try and influence the youth strongly befoe the streets get a hold of them.

I agree with you Charriot…there needs to be some intensive training and enough tools or equipment to enforce the law and take out the lawless.
Law-abiding citizens can help when they report crimes and not keep quiet as I think they are doing now.

Drepaul!!! Which hand is the wrong hand? Yes it’s the gov to create laws and the police to enforce them, but how can they enforce them with inadequate training and the proper tools?
Everything must be done collectively in order to see progress. It also needs citizen support.

Cheryl,after reading your blog it is my view that it is a strange co-incidence for the vehicle to break down at that particular area.I agree with you that the circumstances are suspicious.Was this innocent woman handed over to the bandits?.My sympathy goes out to the family and friends of the deceased,but this man should be thoroughly interrogated to clear up any doubts. My view is based on what I read in S.N.and other media reports.Are Mr Green’s detectives capable of a proper investigation in this brutal murder?.
