A rice farmer of Cotton Tree, Berbice has filed a private criminal charge of attempted murder at the New Amsterdam Court against Land Court Judge Kumar Doraisami.
The farmer, Manzoor Ally-Khan, swore before Magistrate Geeta Chandan Persid-Edmond last Friday that on October 31 last at the Annex Land Court entrance Justice Doraisami drove his motorcar into his path and attempted to kill him. Ally-Khan is scheduled to return to court next Friday when the charges would be read to Justice Doraisami.

Was Mr Ally-Khan hit by the judges car, or had previous grievances, if none it’s a very lame case for the Accuser
no he did’nt had to be struck by the judge’s car, he has to prove that the judge intended to harm him, as such any one who wittnessed this incident would be called to give evidence.
I hope the RICE FRAMER stand his ground, and don’t back down.
it would be interesting to know what led to the judge’s alleged action’s towards his accuser. a charge of attempted murder seems serious, so more details on the issue needs to be brought to the fore so that readers can get a clearer picture as to what significant series of events led to the alleged incident.

Mr. Ally-Khan had better be damnd sure of what he is doing and the proof that he has to back up his allegation since, if he fails to get a conviction, he could be counter sued by the judge for defamation of character. This will be an interesting one to follow.

Mansoor Ally is not poor if memory serve right I think he owns a gas station and that Judge used to be the Magistrate in the West Berbice area for quite some time and he is well known there
I give this man credit for standing up to his rights. It would appear that the Police has not laid charges against this Judge, so this rice farmer did the right thing, fear no one, and had cahrges brought against the Judge. How far will it progress is a different matter. But in the meantime, I salute this brave soul.
