well it was obviously the pirated one, i think the reason he was beaten was cause he didnt want to tell the two men where to obtain a copy of this pirated song that reminded all 3 of them of themselves.

Fran, I was not criticising the song, I never even heard of the group or hear the song. I based my comment on the fact that the perpetrators hated the song so much they walloped the DJ to an inch of death.

Thanks for the link, I listened to it and can now see why the guys were angry. It describes their lifestyle in perfect detail.

The singer was cute, as for the song, lets put it this way, it would not be on my christmas shopping list, but if I attend a local function and it is playing I will certainly tap my feet, since I am not much of a dancer, and yes I will vote for them if called upon.

……..tessa!!……..guyana is no joke!…..with vat and this finicial melt down things are very tight in the country…….and everyone have to take good care as to where he or she steps…….this is no joke…..water/electricty in and out…….the avrage joe and mary finds it difficult to to survive on their earnings…….the only thing to tame this situtation down is rum…..

These kind of songs are well suited for some guyanese wheather they
live in guyana or overseas.
Its a shame to hear Guyanese bad talking the local music when its so appreciated overseas. Look how the Trinies support their musicians, now wonder they are so far ahead. I think the SCG are very talented and their songs are cultural, its Chutney/Soca genre and if you are narrow minded just dont listen to this type of music and keep your comments to yoursel or better yet…………………..GO GET A LIFE!

The unique Guyanese sense of humour reflected in the comments on this story really struck my funny bone, revealing a textbook example of schadenfreude (big word, look it up please) I was laughing until i began to “cry.” Then when i was about to wipe away the last set of tears from my eyes, i noticed a pop-up ad at the top of my screen displaying “Addiction Cure Center, Malibu, CA.” Needless to say, that sent me into another fit of laughter, and the “eye water” flowed so much that it wet up my keyboard and the ting stop workin. So now i have to bumm u bannas for a small piece to buy a new one.

I think everyone is missing the point,, JOHN MANGER who lives in the worst oppressed country CANADA wrote that everyone has the right to play their music, and if you don’t like it leave, hence him living in Canada, because in the United States when you go to a club and you don’t like the music, the D J has one choice and one choice only, CHANGE THE MUSIC or lose your set and possible your life.
