Whenever I read of cases like this I wonder when or if people ln Guyana will ever learn. I wish the TV companies in Guyana will show movies like “Tropical Snow” and “Maria Full of Grace”. I wish they would show episodes of the popular Bio channel documentary “Locked Up Abroad”.
Although I care very much about Guyanese suffering untold hardships and grinding poverty at home, I will maintain that resorting to drug smuggling is definitely not the way to go. Every day at work I see many Guyanese suffering the penalties for resorting to crime. Whenever I have to sign body receipts and other documents for delivery of a Guyanese to other authorities for eventual deportation, IT HURTS.

This problem is far bigger than what you imagine,,,there are people in this life who will take a 5-10 yr in exchange for $50 Million and a good life for their family, what else they got to lose,,,I used to see them everyday, where their family would put big money in their commissary accounts, they run their businesses from behind bars and they receive visits come rain or shine every visiting day,from every baby momma, and some of them have conjugal visits, so life is good and they stay active and exercise and eat well and come out to live rich.

This mule was fingered by a tout,,,,they just did not catch him like that,,,,someone snitched him out, probably a rival mule, and buttening them down will not stop the flow of traffic, look at Columbia in the 1990’s same thing. What is needed is proper detection equipment in cooperation with drug sniffing dogs and publicity of this operation on the media as a deterrent .

At lease the news I am hearing is good for a change too much drugs mules are getting through the airport recently , also hope this was a real bust , those of you who are guyanese will know what I mean if you try bringing your stuff through the airport and you do not have a contact well your goose are cook , hope canu can get the big horse not just the small mules , will be looking and lisening for the next bust and how long it will take to happen that will tell me a lot.

excellent point! This was a wasted opportunity for a collaborative effort to arrest the big fish in GT and with the help of Bajan authorities, the receivers in Barbados. Once again no synergy in tactics, only photo-ops and bragging rights opportunism.
