From all appearances President-elect Barack Obama has not served any time in the U. S. Military Service and will soon be Commander-In-Chief of the most powerful country in the world; so, what if Sandhurst First turns out to be a leading Information Technology (IT) Specialist/Economist and in the process help Guyana to produce graduate students twenty (20) times smarter than some of the current Guyana government officials that were instrumental in the closure of institutions such as Globe Trust and Investments (GTICL), the Guyana Cooperative and Industrial Development Bank (GAIBANK), Guyana Mortgage Finance Bank (GMFB) among other financial institutions in Guyana. And, since you are aware of how things could have been done differently with regards to those financial institutions in Guyana - The world awaits to see how the $700,000,000,000 US approved by the US Senate and Congress will impact the U. S. Economy now officially in recession.

How about letting the world know how socially and economically certain veterans of the GDF end up after giving the best part of their lives to that institution. Do you remember these words: "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man how to fish and he eats for a lifetime".

BTW, how is the late L. F. S. Burnham promised "Land For Housing and Farming To The GDF Veterans Program" headed!

And, there is a word called - "REFORM" (or CORRECTION) where Sandhurst First (or others like him) is concerned. Also, It is now history what really led up to the "Boston Tea Party"!

Re: "Are you implying that those taxpayer bought choppers for national defence are not safe!?!?!" Well, first of all it is not a question of what yours truly may or may not be saying.. but the fact is that all of what have to be taken into account have to do with the strict observance of certain international standards, practices and procedures to certify the air-worthiness of crafts like those being talked about; and, being aboard an helicopter (a second-hand one at that with thousands of flying hours already logged) hundreds of feet up in the air is not the same as traveling on the highway in an second-hand car where you can pull over in the space provided and fix a problem if anything goes wrong. And, gravity has a way of reminding us in what direction we could be headed in the absence of gliding ability in event of a malfunctioning rotary craft. 8-)

Hey "mark"! Are we not suppose to be talking about "military" versions of choppers here!!! Then, if you are thinking about taking "Yvette" for a ride within the context of the U. S. Military then it would have to be an Apache, Black Hawk, Cobra.... and not one of those that is being "tried out" by the GDF. Come on now you have got to show some class if you are talking about flying in the USA. ;-)

So, why do you think that the people at the "media houses" in Guyana are less "safety conscious" than those that fly the "news choppers" here in the United States of America?

You mean like how the little helicopter couldn't fly over the corentyne river to look for those backtrackers who drowned...............they said the helicopter cannot fly over water..........we know it flew here to get here and when it reached it had over 10,000 flying hours as one man said...........although the administration said it was brand new!!

Fulano-De-Tal I think that you are choseing the wrong person to side with on any issue in relation to the army , Sandhurst was send to repersent the army and in extention the country at one of the best school in the world when it come to training for soldiers and he let the country down, cannot get into any details because to be honest I do not know all the details , but he was send back to Guyana what a shame, I hope that you are not a former , or current soldier what the army is doing with the kids is good its a motivation to them they may want to join when they grow up and be a help to the country and its future. just stand down.

Anybody knows if the kids had flight insurance when they went up in the helicopters? What woulda happen if the copter had developed a lil aerodynamic deficiency? Was it right/legal/regular/whatever to take up the kids? Parents signed disclaimer? Ah but fun while it lasted...
