The Mayor and City Council says operations at the Municipal Abattoir will start at 6 am from December 15 to 31 to accommodate the additional workload during the festive season.

In a press release the Council said too the slaughtering fee for a bovine animal is $1,200 and a porcine animal $800. In addition, registration fees for restaurants have moved from “300 per sq ft to 500 per sq ft.” For more information on these services the public is advised to call the abattoir at telephone numbers 227-2131 or 227-1839.
