When the PPP stops selling Gy as a “Green Country” and promotes a beter infrastructure where lands become profitable under the plough (corn, peas, beans etc) then lifestyles will be improved and drugs remain a disgusting option for the poor.

Most Gy are law abiding and morally sound people. Satish’s option (Capital Punishment) will only work, if drug dealers re-patirated are disposed of publicly when they hit Gy soil. Its extreme but if these people bring harm to Gy youth (by glamming them into drugs) then our youth must be protected.

Geogia. A simple and effective plan.

The Future? Cde F Burnham brought this in a small part to us. He was the leader that brought us a simple crop (Shallots, Green Onions). They are widely produced by even the smallest farmers but they bring income to families. This is what the Great Cde. F Burnham wanted. This land sustaining all its people at a higher quality of life with its own produce.

The PPP needs to take stock of this and accerlerate the farming infrastructure so that our nation and feed and educate its offspring.

Through Agriculutre NOT Sub-Culutre!

The USA, the common victim in this South American drug production matter needs to attend to this problem at the same level. The $ they spend on fire fighting (dealing with Post Drug trafficking issues) could be spent on a railway to Mazaruni / to The Cuyuni to bring (Agri) crops to market or ensure that peoples of these remote regions receive aid and advancement. We need to get to these people before the Drug Barons!

Why has it taken the authorities so long to go after the narco king pins? The courts in Guyana need to impose long and hard labour sentences for convicted drug lords. In addition, confiscate all their personal properities and assets.

Hats off to all the dedicated drug enforcement agencies in Canada, USA, Guyana and the West Indies.

I am sure this is but the tip of the iceburg. Lot’s more illegal activities drugs/fuel being conducted right under the noses of GY police/armed forces/taxman/government and no one seems to want to do anything about it. Does anyone question where the money comes from for all the 3/4 storey building sprouting up in GT or the mansions that have suddenly exploded?

BTW any news on the jeweller and that multi million dollar fuel bust? Or that case jacket going to disappear?

Kudos to the international community for this and other efforts to curtail Guyana’s drug trade, however small these efforts ma be.

Hi Carol I like the second part of your story the cops wait till the bandits left guyana through the back track then put out a wanted add in the papers how wise, but as the saying goes all awe a one family the barrons have more contact than canu so somebody will let them know when something is going down if these men [canu, cops] get good pay things will change a lot bring men from outlying areas with good education train them with the help of the US and see the differance the coastlanders have too much conections with each other use informants , use men from the GDF G-3 brance if there are still any left because I have notice most gone to canu in any case this drugs thing is getting out of hand these days everytime guyana goes on the world map is through something negitive , jim jones, coke in fish, chairs, pepper, contract killing,damm I am sick of it, come together people and clean up our country what will the new genaration have to look back on when they grow up nothing good how sad.

believe it or not this has been one of our biggest earner of foriegn exchange. so to those who r surprise you were sleeping. what make we progressing so much back home . just asked them who setting up these big big building and cruising around.take this away any many will beout of work. where r the new jobs that we r creating ? from number one sugar exporter we have the honour added as the number one drug exporter too. go guyana go.

Sandhurst if the DEA is there then they are making a move on the middle man. Guyana and Guyanese involved in this COCAINE shipment are all middlemen. Kilos of cocaine is not prossessed in GY. It all done in Brazil, COlumbia and Venuzela. The FBI, DEA and other law inforcements in those countries are making it more difficult for these shipments to get out unnoticed.

This is where the money grubbing, bribe taking, lazy ass, get rich quick Guyanese come in!

Guyana is slack and the drug lords know this. It’s easy to get these street walkers involved with minimum effort and resources. Unless the Port Authority and CANU get their act together, Guyana as a country will be blamed.

Sometimes in life, before things get better, they get worst. And that what happening now. This situation will force the government, to clean up the country, of those so called (DRUG DEALERS) business men. And if no action is taken, this is the perfect platform, from which a new political party, could be formed. Where honest hard working Guyanese can take back their country.
