Dear Editor,

There needs to be a law that requires a status report on government investigations or pending action by the DPP or others after every 30 days to an appropriate governing body(commissions, ministers etc). They in turn may report the status to the public.

For example. police investigations must be reported to the DPP’s office for monitoring of their progress and a final report. The DPP itself should be monitored to ensure they make timely decisions on whether they will prosecute or not and why.

Whatever the investigating bodies, some time limits and oversight must be provided and a final decision made. No more unending investigations or pending reports.

Yours faithfully,

(name and address provided)
