We are willing to proceed against this cartman

Dear Editor,

Mr Cullen Bess-Nelson, the photographer who took the front page picture (Sunday Chronicle, January 13, 2008) of the horse straining to pull the overweight cart could have:

i. Used his citizen’s power of arrest to stop the law-breaking cart driver, and/or

ii. Documented the number of his cart, so that the GSPCA could have intervened.

The fact that the Editor saw it fit to blank out the driver’s face precludes the GSPCA finding the miscreant. If anyone knows this cart driver, please contact the Animal Clinic and Shelter, Telephone Number 226-4237, so that our inspectors could go after this animal abuser. Because of the photo, we have the evidence, if the Guyana Chronicle is prepared to give the photo to the GSPCA.

Yours faithfully,

Oliver Insanally

Honorary President

The Guyana Society for the Prevention of

Cruelty to Animals
