Dear Editor,

I shouted aloud after reading the letter by Attorney-at-Law Charrandass Persaud captioned “An internal police investigation is underway into the abuse of this child and a senior police officer has been relieved of his responsibilities” (08.01.20).

I cannot begin to say how torn apart I had felt after reading that the family of the abused child had decided to settle the matter. I was wondering what had gone wrong. But there was an overwhelming relief of tension after I had read the letter by Mr Persaud.

I commend those in authority who have taken this step. And to Mr. Charrandass Persaud and the reporters I salute you in bringing this gruesome act to light.
