We share the grief of the families

Dear Editor,

It was with great distress and sadness that we learned of the “brutal and cold blooded” murder that took the lives of eleven innocent people including five children, all residents of Lusignan and left so many families and citizens in a state of shock. Loss of life is always tragic, but when the lives lost were those of innocent children and their parents and the act, to all appearances, was unprovoked and fraught with violence, anger and terror by the hands of another heartless human being, then what we see before us, in the victims and perpetrators, is a most grave breach on the sacredness of human life.

Since hearing the news of this tragedy, all of you have been in my thoughts and prayers. I am sure your fellow brothers and sisters in around the world are in pain with you due to the destruction of lives brought about by this catastrophe cyclone and as people of faith with — in our Guyanese-American community will prayed together in our Sunday’s services, calling upon our gracious and merciful God to bring relief and comfort to the victims’ families suffering at this movement.

The New Jersey Arya Samaj Mandir, Inc Humanitarian Mission share your grief in this deadly human tragedy, and all of us are committed and ready to contribute in any possible manner to overcome the catastrophic impact of this human killer cyclone and in alleviating the sufferings of the affected victim’s families.

While we pray for God’s mercies, we are at a loss for adequate words of comfort to the bereaved family members who are left behind. We can only offer prayers for you in these days of grief:

Life so fragile. Loss so sudden. Many hearts so broken. In the wake of such a loss, we’re haunted by things we don’t – and may never – understand. Yet the solace we seek may not come from answers. Therefore, we look for comfort in the belief of love’s everlasting connection. May that love lift you, hold you close, and give you peace.

Yours faithfully,

Pt. Suresh Sugrim, President
