Dear Editor,
I had to do a double take. No this was just the wrong channel. A time warp maybe? Was I hearing right? Defoliation of the east coast backlands to steal the night from the bandits?
The last time I heard that one was after the Tet offensive – Vietnam 1968. The United States administration had convinced itself that the problem in Vietnam was a military one and what was required, therefore, was a military solution.
Maybe someone should tell the administration that Agent Orange has been banned for the destruction it wrought and the fall-out that continues.
