This meeting of stakeholders was significant

The National Security Plan was discussed at a special stakeholders meeting convened at the Office of the President on Wednesday. This meeting was a follow up to a previous meeting held last week where the civil society stakeholders had put out a statement calling on the political parties to seek in good faith a unified position on law and order and public safety.

It was good to see the various political parties and representatives of the civil society organisations represented at the meeting. That was a manifestation of what could be achieved once our leaders could sit down and talk. A lot could be achieved for the development of our country and the betterment of all Guyanese.

As I understand it the stakeholders present at the meeting expressed satisfaction with the security plan as presented. They have also expressed a willingness to support the plan as government moves to create a secure society for all.
