Many don’t know how to use their phones

Dear Editor,

We the residents of Mahdia wish to express our profound gratitude to Digicel for having shown their concern and erected a cellular site in our community.

Most people are not making full use of their phones due to not knowing how to operate the facilities thereon. Some do not read the books found in the phone boxes, others do, but do not understand clearly, and the print is too small for the elderly and for some who do not see clearly.

Basically, many know to call and to receive, but they are yet to know

(1) how to indicate the cash balance on the display screen

(2) what to press to know the time date, how to store telephone numbers; take pictures and how to delete them and other vital uses of their phones.

Digicel listed numerous benefits of being a Digicel customer and invited the public to join the bigger, better network. But every customer should have full knowledge of how to use their phones. This could be acquired, I suggest, if Digicel officials in Mahdia hold a workshop on the diverse uses of phones, whether they are Coral, Nokia, Sony Ericson, Konka, etc.

Yours faithfully,

George Carrington
