Dear Editor,

In the present unrest in Tibet where the Tibetans are opposing Chinese occupation, Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic speaker of the American Congress said that the situation in Tibet is a challenge to the conscience of the world.

I do have great respect for Nancy Pelosi and maybe she is correct about what is going on in Tibet. However, the Chinese have brought some progress to Tibet during their decades of occupation……
