More seats needed at this health centre

Dear Editor,

On a recent visit to the Rosignol Health Centre  I was disheartened to witness the factthat there is a lack of seating accommodation for persons awaiting an HIV test; many of these being pregnant mothers in various stages of pregnancy.
Though there is seating accommodation in the general waiting area, this is neither adequate nor practical for those there to access treatment for HIV. This area is designated for those visiting for the usual everyday medical ailments or family-planning clinic.
Rosignol Health Centre is not only a testing site but also a treatment centre for numerous people living with HIV/AIDS. (PLWHA).
I was reliably informed by an employee at that health facility that this uncomfortable situation escalates on Tuesdays because of it being clinic day.
As such there are quite a large number of people accessing treatment as well as those who are  there for testing, all of whom unfortunately have to stand for lengthy periods of time as they await their turn to receive medical attention.
Can the relevant authority at the Health Ministry please help to alleviate the discomfort of these citizens.

Yours faithfully,
Juliet Dukhi
