Many of us were at the official launch of Carifesta X.
The main speakers, the Minister of Culture and His Excellency, the President, spoke encouraging words.

When the President mentioned that Carifesta had returned home to Guyana after 36 years, one would have expected a gracious reference to the architect, initiator of Carifesta, LFS Burnham. We heard some contrived suggestion about some set of artistes and writers bringing in the idea. The man who brought Carifesta into being was Forbes Burnham.

Sadly, yet another assault on the truth and in the relentless campaign, more of a religious type crusade, to rewrite our history……
