I live in Antigua and I got a call from my niece informing me of the detention of my nephew, Dwayne Browne. I called several telephone numbers at a cost of over EC$75.00, before I was given some information, which did not make any sense.

When I first called, a Constable Cole told me to call HQ; I told him it was an overseas call and I asked him for the number. He told me he did not know the number and when I said, “You are working in an organization and you do not know the number,” he slammed down the phone. I then called the switchboard again and was given the number through a rumbling phone line. I phoned HQ and was told that the matter was being dealt with by the officers at the Brickdam Police Station.

It was after all this run-around that I was eventually told by a Corporal Watson that my nephew was being held for questioning in relation to an armed robbery; my relatives also told me the same thing. …..
