The Georgetown Public Hospital should use a triage system in the emergency room

Dear Editor,
I would like to join the many people who are appalled by the poor service that was provided at the Georgetown Public Hospital emergency room.  First of all those who work as doctors, nurses and technicians should keep in mind that they are paid by taxpayers. And the taxpaying community deserves to be treated with care and respect.

I hope the committee assigned to investigate the unfortunate death of this young woman will look into ways of improving the service at the emergency room. Triaging patients in the ER will certainly save lives by alleviating the congestion and aggravation experienced by those in need of medical assistance.  It assists in prompt attention for those who are suffering from life-threatening ailments.  This system is effectively used in many hospitals in the US and Canada.  It is my sincerest hope that the committee will research the triage system and apply some of the concepts to their current ER procedures to prevent another untimely death.
Yours faithfully,
Dover Delaware
