Dear Editor, 
With reference to the article ‘Delta lands’ (SN, 2.6.08) , the statement “Delta, in an attempt to address the rising cost of fuel and increase its international presence, recently merged with Northwest Airlines forming the world’s largest carrier,” is incorrect.

These two airlines have signalled their intention to merge. They are still subject to US regulatory approval and as such are still operating as independent carriers.
