Corriverton Town Council has not collapsed

Dear Editor,
I write in response to a letter in your letter column on August 5, 2008 under the caption ‘The current local government style is informed by narrow political considerations.’

The Corriverton Town Council has in no way collapsed as was mentioned by the writer. The Corriverton Town Council presently comprises of the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Councillors who are active in their respective roles.

Also the council has an Audited Financial Report for the year 2001 from the Office of the Auditor General. Auditing for the years 2002 and 2003 has finished and we are awaiting the Auditor’s report.
Yours faithfully,
Narendra Sukhram
Town Clerk (ag)
