Dear Editor,
I saw in your paper some days ago a letter about the flooding in Wortmanville and Werk-en-Rust areas.  How can the city council allow this – of course I mean the City Engineer’s Department.

Whatever construction is undertaken should be done with the minimum of inconvenience to your neighbours and the residents of the area.

The flow of water in the trenches is restricted by the work being done at High and Princes Streets. There has been no rain for several days and the yards are still flooded. How could the city council treat their ratepayers with such little respect? The health ministry should have a say with regard to this health hazard.
Yours faithfully,
CPB Walcott
