No proper planning for tickets’ distribution

Dear Editor,

In as much as I applaud the government for providing free tickets for the public to view and participate in the Carifesta events, I feel that the decision was not accompanied by proper planning.

Today’s SN (August 21) and TV reports of the previous evening reveal utter chaos. Why, I ask, should tickets be sorted when persons have been waiting for hours outside the National Cultural Centre, and how could they control a fair distribution to ensure that persons did not return again for tickets and that overseas visitors staying with family or friends were accommodated?

Lastly, we tend to forget our Joint Services who have been tasked for a long time with the fight against crime, and now are called up for this special security that may rob some of them of the opportunity of seeing Carifesta.

Despite the bottlenecks let’s all try to be good ambassadors for our country.

Yours faithfully,
(Name and address provided)
