Why no bail?

Dear Editor,

Why isn’t bail being granted to Oliver Hinckson?  Why was he being held in solitary confinement, sometimes for twenty-three- and a-half hours of the twenty-four hour day?

I am asking these questions of my fellow Guyanese and I am also suggesting that fair-minded Guyanese should monitor this case every step of the way to ensure that Mr Hinckson receives justice at every level of the judicial system. If no bail, why not?  If solitary confinement, why?

Yours faithfully,
Rudy Vyfhuis
