New TV viewing option welcome

Dear Editor,

I am indeed glad that a corporate entity has come to the fore in offering another option of television viewing in Guyana. Movie Star Guyana must be commended for wanting to expand their services, especially in Berbice.

The current options for cable television in Guyana include DirecTV and Sky Television. Though these are two very good sources of entertainment, however they can be very costly for the average Guyanese. Movie Star’s initiatives are most welcome in the Ancient County.

While the government continues to dictate the issuance of more private TV and radio licences as another year passes, the hope of something better coming along is always anticipated.

Berbicians would be very happy for a better option to the one that already exists in the county — a sorry excuse for a cable TV service in the lower Corentyne area which leaves much to be desired. We do hope Movie Star stands by their promise and sets up operations here in a month’s time — we are eagerly waiting to make the switch!

Yours faithfully,
Leon Jameson Suseran
