Dear Editor,
The proportion of violence committed against women in this country is alarming these days compared to many other locations around the world. It needs to be addressed urgently with full vigour, vitality and a no- nonsense approach, letting the full force of the law be felt by the perpetrators of heinous crimes against women.
In wake of the most recent acts of violence against women, that invoked our condolences and grief, society has a duty to demonstrate its objection, rejection, condemnation and abhorrence of the behaviour of the perpetrators by calling on the government and law enforcement agencies to exercise the full power of the law to bring an end to this unwanted behaviour in our society.
There must be total freedom for all from fear; stop the violence against women now.
