The seawall is no place for loud music

Dear Editor,
I wish to appeal to the relevant authorities and those who violate my Sunday evenings with loud boom-box music coming from the seawall. Sundays are times to relax and prepare for Monday and the coming week either at a workplace or at school. People would sit in a chair, read a book, watch TV and students like me do their school work. The only requirement is to have a serene atmosphere.

Unfortunately, extremely loud music is being played every Sunday on the seawall which shatters the peace and quiet and affects residents who live in this vicinity. This nuisance spreads throughout Sheriff Street and affects all of us who live in the Bel Air Gardens, Bel Air Springs and Subryanville area. It can be heard as far away as Kitty.

The seawall is no place for playing loud music. Such conduct should be confined to entertainment facilities built for this purpose. So if there are any readers who take part in these activities of playing loud music on the seawall, I am appealing to you to consider the negative effect it is having on people, particularly young schoolchildren.

I am also asking the authorities to enforce the law against noise pollution.
Yours faithfully,
Brendon Sachin Khan
