Please be advised that the Bartica Regatta Committee, under the chairmanship of Mr Holbert Knights, wishes to correct an erroneous statement in relation to the recently held Designer’s Quest in Bartica.

The opening paragraph of ‘Melinda Adams wins Bartica Fashion Quest’ (‘The Scene’ SN 6.12.08) indicated that Sonia Noel organized the event. Please note that the said event was part of a highly successful weekend programme of six different activities (including the Designer’s Quest) dubbed ‘This is Bartica,’ that was put together and managed by the Bartica Regatta Committee, with Ms Sonjie Marslowe DeBarros heading the Designer’s Quest programme.

Ms Sonia Noel, a well respected and admired Bartician, offered the committee some very valuable technical advice and hosted (along with Richard Young) a workshop for the designers, for all of which we are extremely grateful.

Kindly ensure a speedy correction since the error in the publication of the article has had (even though unintended) a very negative effect on the entire committee.
