I support Lurlene in congratulating the party on a successful General Council.  I was particularly impressed with the General Secretary’s report.  The General Secretary reported that one thousand members had renewed their membership.  This was a clear indication that the members whom the Leader has been boasting about have truly endorsed him.  Lurlene, thirty-three thousand members supported Mr Corbin just over a year ago to be Leader.

I think it’s important that we keep a close eye on this development, since at the last congress a motion was passed to amend the party’s constitution; the motion says in effect that a member must have at least two years’ continuous membership to either contest or vote for any position .It therefore means at the next congress of the party Corbin could be overwhelmingly re-elected by a hundred delegates as the Leader of the PNCR, and therefore endorsed as the party’s presidential candidate.  This is great news for the party, Lurlene.
